Many situations can cause noise in the computer audio system, such as interference with the speaker, poor connection of the interface or connecting line, and poor quality of the audio itself.
Generally speaking, computer stereos are mostly active speakers, and there must be amplifiers inside them, so noise is inevitable. Noise from active speakers can be roughly divided into electromagnetic interference, mechanical noise, and thermal noise according to their sources.
Electromagnetic interference can be mainly divided into power transformer interference and stray electromagnetic wave interference. Generally speaking, power transformer interference is caused by magnetic leakage from the power supply of the multimedia speaker. If conditions permit, installing a shield for the transformer can have a significant effect, which can maximize the magnetic leakage barrier. The shield can only be made of iron type materials. We should try to choose products with large brands and solid materials. In addition, using external transformers is also a good solution.
Stray electromagnetic interference is common, and speaker wires, frequency dividers, wireless devices, or computer hosts can all become interference sources. Keep the main speaker as far away from the computer host as possible, and reduce the number of peripheral wireless devices.
Mechanical noise is unique to active speakers. During the operation of the power transformer, the vibration of the iron core caused by the alternating magnetic field will generate mechanical noise, which is very similar to the buzzing sound emitted by the fluorescent lamp ballast. Choosing high-quality products is still the best way to prevent this noise. In addition, we can install a rubber damping layer between the transformer and the fixing plate.
It should also be noted that if the potentiometer is used for a long time, poor contact between the metal brush and the membrane may occur due to dust accumulation and wear, and noise may occur during rotation. If the screws on the speaker are not tightened and the inverter tube is not properly handled, mechanical noise can also occur when playing large dynamic music.
This thermal noise can be dealt with by replacing low noise components or reducing the working load of the components. In addition, reducing the operating temperature is also an effective method.
In addition, some computer speakers can also make noise when the volume is turned too high. This situation is caused by the possibility that the output power of the power amplifier may be small and cannot avoid the large dynamic peak signal at the moment of music, or due to speaker overload and distortion.
